If you read my latest Week In Review post, you’ll know that I was home the last couple of days for Thanksgiving break. Now that I’m back on campus, I have a busy week ahead of me, with a couple of big assignments due, as well as other personal projects (like NaNoWriMo!) going on.
I didn’t really prepare a blog post for today, but I wanted to post something anyway. With the crazy week I’m having right now, I’m trying to focus on the good things that “fill me up,” so here are five things that are motivating and encouraging me this week
Rose Under Fire by Elizabeth Wein
I started this book right before Thanksgiving break, and I’m loving it so far. If you’ve read Code Name Verity, it’s just as amazing, and features a new main character and storyline that’s just as fascinating as its predecessor. I’ve enjoyed spending my meals reading this.
NaNoWriMo is almost done!
It’s crazy to think that there are just a few days left in November and NaNoWriMo is almost over! I’m still on track, and I’m hoping to reach 50k words soon. Even though it’s been a little stressful having this extra thing on my plate, I’m really proud of myself for staying with it.
Dark Flag by Phinehas
Solid State records had a sale for Black Friday where all of their CDs were half off, so I decided to buy a handful. One of the ones I got was Phinehas’s most recent album, Dark Flag, which came with a digital download so I was able to listen to it immediately (I’m still waiting for the others to arrive in the mail). Although I’ve never listened to the band before, I fell in love the moment I turned it on, and I’m so glad I bought it.
An Exciting Weekend Ahead
The RD (residence director) in my dorm is hosting a Christmas party in her apartment this weekend, so I’m planning on going to that after working hard this week. I also might do some fun things with my friends, especially since I didn’t see them much last week, so I’m looking forward to that as well.
My Cool New Mug
I got this mug at Barnes & Noble while I was back home, and I love it. When I pour hot water into it, the screen “lights up,” so to speak, which makes it the perfect mug for a geeky tea-aholic.
I know this isn’t the same as my regular Monday posts, but I wanted to write something, partly to encourage myself, and partly to encourage you to think about the little things that keep you going throughout the week.
