Happy Friday everyone!
I hope you’re all doing well! My week had some ups and downs, but overall, it was pretty good. I have spring break to look forward too now, so I’m excited to head home and spend some time chilling out.
This week, I started a new series on my blog called “The Poetry of Metal,” in which I analyze the lyrics of metal songs and show how the artists use literary techniques to convey their message. I analyzed “Panic Room” by Silent Planet this past week, so be sure to give it a read and let me know what I should write about next!

No I really don’t think you guys understand, I almost started screaming when I saw the trailer for Okami HD.
In school… I’m not as busy as I was last week, but it was still pretty crazy with some exams and other big assignments. Spring break starts today though, and I’m excited to have a week off to chill out and catch up on stuff.
Writing… more poetry! I haven’t been working on much else outside of my poetry for class, but I’ve actually been enjoying these projects a lot. I just wrote a sonnet about Breath of the Wild (what else did you expect?), and I really like how it turned out, so I might try to write more Zelda-related poems in that style. We’ll see!
Reading… Brooding YA Hero: Becoming a Main Character (Almost) as Awesome as Me by Carrie Ann DiRisio. The e-book was on sale on Amazon, so I picked it up. I really love it so far, especially with how it pokes fun a YA tropes and common issues YA novels run into. I also finished Warcross over the weekend, and I gave it 5 stars. A fantastic book!
Playing… Breath of the Wild again, which is definitely related to the sonnet-writing (see above). I just have four more shrines to find now, and while I’m not using a map to look for them, I have narrowed it down to which general area they might be in (basically, I compared a list of shrines by region with the ones I already found and… yeah. It was a long process).
Feeling… much better than I have been. The last week and a half was really rough for a number of reasons, but things are really looking up now. I’m glad I have spring break to chill out and refresh my mind a little.
Looking forward to… spending spring break with my family and working on some personal projects.
Thankful for… chocolate chip cookies, sleeping in, good times in class, getting the summer job I wanted, exploring Hyrule castle, and becoming the Pokemon Champion.
