Week In Review – April 13

Happy Friday everyone!

I am pleased to report that at long last, we are experiencing some warm weather in Pennsylvania! It was 70 degrees Fahrenheit yesterday, and it’s supposed to go up to 80 today, which I’m excited about. I love every season for different reasons, but spring and summer are always fun ones.

This week, I did something a little different and participated in the final (for now) Beautiful People linkup. I talk about some of my favorite tropes, what my characters love, and other fun little writing things. Be sure to give it a read and if you’re a writer, I encourage you to participate in the linkup!

Song of the Week

Internet Round-Up

In school… I was much less busy this week, but I definitely still had enough to keep my occupied. I got caught up on some reading, studied for an exam, wrote a lab report for my science class, and worked on some stuff for poetry too. We’re getting pretty close to the end of the semester, so things are winding down in some ways but also starting to get more intense in other ways.

Writing… Summertime for Camp NaNo! As of right now (I haven’t written for today yet), I’m at 11,853 words, just shy of the halfway point for my goal of 25,000. I’m not sure if I’ve said this before, but I really like the way this rewrite is turning out. I feel like I understand the characters better this time around, and writing in first-person as opposed to third-person is so much easier.

Trying… this app I’ve heard of called 1 Second Everyday. It’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like – you film one second of video every day, and then you can stitch it all together into one video. I just started on Monday, so I only have a few days, but you can watch this to get an idea of it. I’m having fun with it, so if you want to try making videos but don’t know where to start, I highly recommend it. Check it out here.

Feeling… much better than last week! I was able to get a lot of rest over the weekend, and so I feel like my energy levels have been better these last few days. The warmer weather doesn’t hurt either.

Looking forward to… not having any major responsibilities over the weekend, spending time outside, and the Pokémon Go Community Day on Sunday (since it’s featuring one of my favorite Pokémon and all).

Thankful for… nice clean laundry, good food, quiet mornings, the sunshine, getting (some of) my life sorted out, dinner with friends, positive advisor meetings, and mac & cheese.

Readers, how was your week? Are you enjoying the weather where you are? Have you ever tried something like 1 Second Everyday? Let me know in the comments!

See you Monday!

    • Thanks so much Melissa! Glad to hear you’re doing well with your Camp NaNo goal as well. It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through the month, but it’s good to be on track.

I hope you have a good week as well!
