Happy Friday everyone!
It’s been kind of a crazy week, but I’m really happy the weekend is here now. I’m looking forward to having time to relax, but also getting some work done too. This blog doesn’t write itself, after all!
Speaking of blogging, this week I wrote about some lessons I’ve learned from Pokémon, one of my favorite video games since childhood. I think there’s a lot that these simple games can teach us about life, but I’d love to hear your thoughts as well!
I also put out a survey for my blog this week, in case you missed it! It’s a short survey that just asks a few questions about you and what you like about my blog. Plus, there’s a chance you could win an Amazon.com gift card! Read all the details here.
Song of the Week
Jen Ledger has her own solo EP now, and it’s really awesome!
Internet Round-Up
- The Voice: I don’t watch it, but WILKES (former vocalist for High Flight Society and bassist for Disciple) was on it this season, and he had this really awesome save on one of his recent performances.
- Game Theory: Has Nintendo Gone MAD?! (Nintendo Labo Origins)
- Christian Cinema: Jim Caviezel and The Power of Paul: The Apostle of Christ (Interview)
- Hannah Heath: 5 Problems Within the Own Voices Campaign (Don’t get me wrong, I think Own Voices is great, but I thought this was an interesting perspective)
- Helping Writers Become Authors: 6 Lifestyle Changes You Can Make to Protect Creativity
In school… I only have about 12 days of class left, which is both exciting and terrifying. Things are starting to wind down with final assignments, but I’m staying afloat right now. Just a little further!
Writing… for Camp NaNo – I took a break last weekend since I was pretty busy, but as of now, I’m still ahead of my goal with 16,823 words. I’ve deviated from my outline a little, but I think things are still moving in the right direction. I’m finally getting close to the climax! Oh, and I also wrote some blackout poetry at an event this week, which was a fun change of pace.
In my life… it was kind of a messy week, aside from school and whatnot. I discovered on Saturday that my car was dead, and that caused a long saga of events that I dealt with up through yesterday. Fortunately, there wasn’t anywhere I absolutely HAD to go this week, and my classes were cancelled yesterday due to a service day at my school, so I had time to get everything fixed. All is well now, but it was definitely a rough spot.
Looking forward to… something that isn’t for a while yet, but the City Rockfest Tour coming to my area! I have a ticket, and it’s right before my birthday, which makes it extra special. I’ll finally get to see As We Ascend live, which I’ve been wanting ever since they released Farewell to Midnight. I’m also probably going to be doing some stuff this weekend, so I’m looking forward to that too.
Thankful… that my car is fixed, for watching Sherlock with friends, for chicken tenders and honey mustard, for D&D, that I could spend time in the sun, and for The Oregon Trail.
