2018: Year In Review

2018: Year In Review

Before I start, I think we should all just give ourselves a pat on the back for making it to the end of the year. Whether 2018 was the best year or the worst year of your life, finishing another calendar year is really something to be proud of.

As I do every year, I’m wrapping up 2018 with a look back at my favorite music, books, video games, blog posts, and other moments that made the year special. I do my best to keep it brief, but let’s face it… there’s a lot of great things to be thankful for.

Week In Review – May 11

Happy Friday, everyone!

I hope your May is going well and you’re enjoying the outdoors (if that’s your thing, that is). I’ve been doing pretty well myself – I got to celebrate my birthday this past weekend, so that was pretty exciting.

Speaking of which, my blog post this week is all about 20 Things I’ve Learned in the Past 20 Years, so if you’re looking for some serious and/or silly advice, you’ll probably want to give that a read.

And don’t forget, you just have one more week to enter my blog survey and giveaway! Want to make Maggie’s Musings an even better place? Read the details here.

Freshman Year Soundtrack

First year of college? DONE. Now I only have three more to go…

Anyway, this past year I listened to a lot of music. I mean, I don’t have over 500 songs on my phone for nothing! Plus, I think music can often provide motivation, encouragement, and support all through life, and it expresses things that sometimes can’t be described in just words.

This week, I wanted to share a handful of songs that I’m calling my Freshman Year Soundtrack. Although I listened to much more than this list, these are the songs that I think most describe my year and are also some of the songs that most encouraged me all through the school year. You can listen to the whole playlist on Spotify, but if you want to hear my explanations of the songs, keep reading!

Week In Review – March 24

Welcome to Friday!

Spring break wrapped up last weekend for me, so I’m back at school now. So far though, things haven’t been too bad! I put out two blog posts this week – One of them is the first part of my series about introverts and extroverts, “Extroverts for Introverts,” and the other one is my post for March’s Beautiful People linkup. If you haven’t seen them, I’d love it if you took a look!

By the way, remember how I mentioned I was going to a Memphis May Fire concert last Friday night? It was AWESOME! I’ll admit I wasn’t too impressed by the opening acts, but MMF was fantastic! I’d definitely go see them live again if given the chance.

Week In Review – March 17

Welcome to Friday! I hope that everyone had a good week this week. Me? I’ve been enjoying Spring Break at home (though it’s more like winter break here with all the snow we got this week).

This week, I wrote a tutorial for how I make the title images for my blog posts, so if you’re a fellow blogger, check it out! Of course, you can deviate from my methods – I just wanted to use it as a starting point.

And as for the rest of the week…

Week In Review – Jan 27

Hi everybody! I hope you’ve had a good week – mine wasn’t so bad, if I do say so myself.

Honestly, I don’t have much to say to start off this post, other than that if you missed it, I posted Part 1 of my To-Be-Read list purge this week, so be sure to take a look at that if you haven’t already. I’ll be posting the second half on Monday!

Best of July

Hey everyone, welcome to August! Depending on where you are, you might’ve experienced the same heat wave I did, so I hope we’ve gotten through the worst of it and you’re all managing to stay cool!

Anyways, there’s a lot to talk about this month! In this post, we’ve got music news, articles on writing, some YouTube videos, and a little bit of info about what’s been going on with me this past month. So without putting it off any longer, let’s get started!
