Every year, I think “I won’t do another bullet journaling post” and then I do anyway.
If you’re not familiar with the term, bullet journaling is a style of organization system that combines planners, to-do lists, and ideas in an often creative and artistic way. Everyone had different style of journaling – my own journal has gone through different iterations since I started doing it in 2016.
With the start of a new year, I bought a brand-new journal and started fresh. Now that I have a couple months under my belt, I thought it’d be nice to share what I’ve changed and how my journal has grown since last year.
(But hey, if you missed my 2017 and 2018 posts, be sure to read those first!)
Around this time last year, I wrote a blog post about bullet journaling, which, if you’ve never heard of it before, is an organization system that combines planners, to-do lists, ideas, and many other things. People who have bullet journals use them for all sorts of things, from keeping track of their health, writing down ideas, or just making fun pages like you would with scrapbooking.
I began my bullet journal in late 2016, and so I’ve been doing it for just over a year now. I still have the same journal (well, sort of), and I’ve been filling my pages quite a lot in the past year. Since my last bullet journaling post is almost a year old now, I figured today would be a good time to give you an update. Plus, I want to show how my journal has grown in the last year!
I can’t believe another week has passed already – it feels like just the other day I was writing last week’s WIR! The summer sure is going by fast.
This week, I shared my Freshman Year soundtrack, a list of songs that both defined this past school year and also encouraged me. I also participated in the Beautiful People linkup on Wednesday, so be sure to check that out if you’d like some backstory on one of my characters.
As for the rest of the week, it wasn’t so bad! I spent a lot of time playing video games and working on a new journal (more on that soon), but I also got to spend some time with my family. Oh, and for those who are wondering about the things I mentioned last week – yes, I did get my haircut on Tuesday (thank goodness), and my job interview went well on Wednesday! I’ll try to keep you posted about that as the weeks go on.
A couple of times, mostly in my Week In Review posts, I’ve mentioned that I’ve started bullet journaling. If you’re not familiar with the idea, basically, it’s a planner, idea book, to-do list, and organizer all in one. You’re not really limited in what you do with it, though, which is really nice. I use mine for a bunch of different things, which I’ll share in a little bit.
My mom was the one who introduced me to bullet journaling, and I really liked the idea. It’s a fun place to jot down ideas, and keep track of all my stuff. Plus, it gives me a chance to doodle with a purpose, so to speak. I’m adding new pages all the time – it’s a good way for me to relax.
If you want to know more about bullet journaling, you can visit the official website where the idea got started. But today, I’m also going to share a bit about my bullet journal and how I use it!
I’m ashamed to admit that I mostly forgot about those goals until a few weeks ago.
Even though I didn’t do so well with keeping up with my goals, I decided I’m going to take a look at them anyway. I did make progress in some areas, which I’m happy about. So before I get started setting new goals for this year, I wanted to evaluate my progress in 2016.
