Christmas in College

It’s December, you’re in college, the last thing you want to think about is celebrating Christmas. There are exams to study for, papers to write, group projects to suffer through… who has time to think about the holidays?

Look, as much as I hate to say it, but the busy end-of-semester rush doesn’t delay the passing of time. Christmas will continue to get closer, and if you happen to have a late semester (like I did this year), it’ll be upon you almost as soon as you’re home for the holidays.

It’s hard to celebrate Christmas in college, but fortunately there are some ways you can still have holiday cheer while passing all of your exams.

Month In Review: September 2018

Happy October! Depending on where you are in the world, it might finally be starting to feel like autumn for you (yes, we had 80-degree days here in the middle of September). Midterm exams are coming up at my school, but I’ll be going home for Fall Break in less than a week! I’m looking forward to it.

And in case you missed anything on Maggie’s Musings this month, I blogged about:

I Took A Vacation And I Refuse To Feel Guilty About It

This week marks a month into the school semester, and trust me, I can feel it. Things have calmed down since that first overwhelming week of class, but I still find myself pretty busy with my jobs, classes, homework, and other commitments. Some days I float on, totally fine, situation normal. Other days, I have to work to keep my head above the ocean of tasks.

Each week has its mix of good and bad days, but the past week in particular felt like I was barely treading water. I had some fun things planned for the weekend, so I decided I was going to take a “vacation” – I wasn’t going to worry about all of the nonsense that was cluttering my brain, I was just going to enjoy the things I had planned.

Sophomore Year Soundtrack

If you’ve been following my blog for any length of time, you might know that music is a big part of my life, despite the fact that I’m probably tone-deaf and can’t play any instruments. I love listening to music pretty much anytime, and it’s one of the things that encourages me on a regular basis.

Around this time last year, I wrote a blog post about my Freshman Year Soundtrack, where I just had a list of songs that inspired me, motivated me, or I just listened to them a lot over the course of the school year. I thought I’d do something similar again at the close of my second year of college, since my music tastes are always changing and new songs are always being released.

If you’d like, you can listen to the full soundtrack on YouTube here. Otherwise, keep reading to see my list and why I picked them!

Week In Review – May 18

Happy Friday, everyone!

I’m pretty excited about this week – I finished my sophomore year of college on Monday, and I started working at my summer job on campus later in the week. So far, things are going really well! It’s a bit different than other jobs I’ve worked in the past, but I love it and I’m excited for what the summer holds.

This week, in celebration of Mother’s Day, I shared some of my favorite moms and maternal figures in fiction! If you didn’t get the chance to read it on Monday, be sure to check it out!

Also, today is the LAST DAY to enter my blog survey and giveaway! Read all the details here, I’d love to have your feedback!

Week In Review – May 4

Happy Friday, everyone!

Congrats on making it through this week AND through all of April! Go ahead, give yourself a pat on the back. It’s a busy time of year for many of us, but we’re all making it through.

Speaking of April, I compiled my 1 Second Everyday clips from the past month into a short, 30-second video. If you’re interested in seeing how my 1SE project is coming along, you can see my progress below!

This week, I shared some thoughts about Myers-Briggs types and INTJs in particular, especially when it comes to the idea of “being nice.” I had a really good time thinking about this one, so I hope you enjoy it as well!

There are also just two weeks left to participate in my blog survey and giveaway! Be sure to read all the details here.

Week In Review – April 27

Happy Friday, everyone!

I hope you’re all doing well and that you’ve enjoyed this last full week of April. I can’t believe the month has gone by so quickly, to be honest – it still feels like Easter was last week, but it’ll be May in just a few days. Still, I’m looking forward to next month – I’ll be celebrating my birthday, going to a concert, and finishing up my second year of college, which I’m excited about.

This week, I shared my rules for spoilers and tips on how to avoid them, so if you’re worried about getting spoiled for Avengers: Infinity War this weekend (like I am), perhaps this will help you out.

Oh yeah, and don’t forget to fill out my blog survey and be entered to win an Amazon gift card!

Week In Review – April 20

Happy Friday everyone!

It’s been kind of a crazy week, but I’m really happy the weekend is here now. I’m looking forward to having time to relax, but also getting some work done too. This blog doesn’t write itself, after all!

Speaking of blogging, this week I wrote about some lessons I’ve learned from Pokémon, one of my favorite video games since childhood. I think there’s a lot that these simple games can teach us about life, but I’d love to hear your thoughts as well!

I also put out a survey for my blog this week, in case you missed it! It’s a short survey that just asks a few questions about you and what you like about my blog. Plus, there’s a chance you could win an Amazon.com gift card! Read all the details here.

Week In Review – April 6

Happy Friday, everyone!

I hope you all had a good week! To be honest, mine was a little bit crazy, since I had a lot going on with classes, work, and other commitments, but aside from that, I’m doing alright! I hope you all are staying afloat as well.

This week, I shared 10 Time Management Tips that I use in my day to day life. To be honest, it can be pretty tricky to balance blogging, school, work, and my (albeit limited) social life, so I’ve learned pretty quickly how to make the best use of my time. If that’s something you have a hard time with as well, be sure to give my post a read!

10 Time Management Tips

We’ve all been there: You have a paper due tomorrow and you haven’t even started the book yet, you have a thousand things to get done over the weekend, or you didn’t write your blog post ahead of time and you have no idea what to do.

Everyone struggles with managing their time (anyone who says they don’t is probably lying and playing Candy Crush in class). And look, I’m no angel either (re: writing blog posts), but I have learned a few things over the years, especially after starting college. Today, I want to take a few minutes and talk about time management and a few ways I’ve gotten better at it.
