I’m not quite old enough to remember when the first The Legend of Zelda game was released, but I still have many fond memories of the series. The Legend of Zelda series was one of the first video games that really showed me how much adventure and story could be packed into one “little” game. No matter which game I played, there was always something new to explore, and I fell in love with the each game’s world and its characters.
Yesterday (February 21, 2021) marked the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda franchise. Nintendo’s popular adventure series made its debut in 1986 on the Famicom in Japan, before coming to the United States a year later on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). In celebration, I’ve collected a list of my favorite Zelda-related memories to share, in no particular order.
Happy October! It’s supposed to be autumn here but we had two days that were 90 degrees Fahrenheit (about 32 Celsius) which is definitely not normal for central Pennsylvania. Please give me colder weather and apple cider (which is the SUPERIOR fall beverage). I want to wear my sweatshirt.
School started this month (more on that in a minute) and it was a bit of a struggle to get into the swing of things this year. Because of that, I wrote a grand total of one blog post this month. But it’s a good one! It’s about books: Making the Most of Required Reading
On a related note: I’ve decided to revisit how and when I post things on my blog, and you can find all the details here: Blogkeeping: New Schedule!
And finally, you can check out my 1 Second Everyday Compilation for September!
This week has been a little crazy – I’ve had a lot of reading to do for my classes since the last WIR post, but fortunately, I’m past that (at least, for now). With all of the busyness, I didn’t get a chance to write a “proper” post this past Monday, but I did share some cool new projects I’ve been working on with the blog! You can check out all that in my post “A Rather Messy Monday.”
Also, this week in Musings History, I shared a blog post about my first few weeks of college back at the beginning of my freshman year. It’s really interesting to look back on it now and see how much has changed since my first year!
This week I have a shorter WIR post (kinda like last week – oops). I’ve been spending this week getting ready to move back in at school, and I finally did yesterday, so you can understand that it’s been a bit busy around here. But anyway, more on that in a second.
On Monday, I wrote a blog post called “Talking About Things You Love.” This is something that’s been on my mind for a while, and I finally put it all into words. If talking about your passions is hard, I have some thoughts on that here.
And this week from the Musings Archives, I have the follow-up to my Top 5 Heroines post, my Top 5 Heroes. It’s always fun to put together these lists of characters and whatnot, so maybe I’ll do more sometime.
Finally, for anyone who was wondering, I had a great time with my friend last weekend! I had a safe drive both ways, and we had a good time together, talking and exploring the area. I’m really glad I was able to make the trip!
